Filter by area, budget and bedrooms

Before you shortlist

Look beyond the built-up size.

01

Land you can use

A larger land area does not always mean a larger usable garden. Compare the footprint of the house, driveway, slopes and outdoor spaces. Consider where children could play, how guests would park and whether the pool leaves room for the garden you want.

02

A layout for your household

Check which floor the bedrooms occupy and what the additional rooms can accommodate. A lift, a ground-floor bedroom or separate family lounges may matter more than another reception room. Ask for a floor plan where available, then confirm the arrangement during your viewing.

03

The work behind the home

A private pool, extensive landscaping and several storeys all need care. Ask about the roof, waterproofing, electrical systems and any lift or pool servicing records. For a serious purchase, arrange an independent inspection and allow for repairs alongside your purchase budget.

Narrow your search

Compare the setting as well as the house.

Questions before a bungalow viewing

What is the difference between land area and built-up area?

Land area is the size of the plot. Built-up area describes the constructed floor space and can span several storeys. Compare both with the floor plan and usable outdoor space; confirm the stated measurements and what they include before committing.

Does freehold mean the bungalow needs fewer checks?

No. Tenure is only one part of the purchase. Have your solicitor check the title and relevant restrictions, and confirm the condition of the building and documentation for any alterations.

Can you help me find a bungalow to rent?

Yes. Share your preferred area, monthly budget, household needs and moving date with Jeremy. Rental availability needs to be confirmed separately; a bungalow advertised for sale should not be assumed to be available to rent.
